What is Hospice?

Our Commitment to YOU

By it’s very definition, hospice care is structured to maintain full dignity of life for terminally ill patients. However, the degree of compassionate care with which qualified, licensed professionals deliver, ultimately determines any hospices’ ability to successfully serve patients and their families.Caring for patients within a comforting, familiar setting with the presence of loved ones is only the beginning. Assuring the patient’s freedom from discomfort or pain is a priority which requires teamwork among referring physicians, family members and the hospice staff. Whether Hospice of the Cherokee provides care in the patient’s home or in a long-term care facility.

Our goal is always the same:

To ensure the highest level of care possible, by expertly addressing the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families.

Hospice of the Cherokee stands apart as the compassionate choice in quality hospice care.

Our Services

Hospice and Long Term Care

Hospice care is characterized by its delivery in the patient’s home. For terminally ill patients residing in long term care facilities at the time of their diagnosis, the nursing facility is home. Patients and family members may rest assured that the Hospice of the Cherokee team offers these patients the same level of compassion and care afforded to any patient treated in a traditional home environment. It is also important to remember that our hospice services are offered in addition to the comprehensive care provided by long term care facilities. The Hospice of the Cherokee staff works closely with nursing facility directors and staff members to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.

Our Service Region

Our home health care programs are licensed by the State of Oklahoma and our Service Region (50-60 mile radius of Tahlequah, Oklahoma) includes the following Oklahoma Counties: Adair; Cherokee; Delaware; Mayes; Muskogee; Sequoyah; Wagoner.
